It’s My House And I Lived Here//

Small paintings depict soft moments of intimacy, observance, and punishment as witnessed within the home. They blur as if to deny their factual existence; living only in private memory, never corroborated by outside witnesses. While larger works situate half seen figures in the straight line architecture of the home. The lines of miniblinds and vinyl siding camouflage equally linear invasions by the outside world; be they nosey neighbors, obtrusive security lights, or the specter of financial entrapment. The lines of safety stack on lines of intrusion and what was once a home takes on the architecture of a cage; trapping the figure in bars of their own protection, threatening to ooze out the privacy they wished to hold within.
